GRASSES AND BAMBOO

We love our ornamental grasses here at Russell Nursery and think that every Westcoast garden should have some. They offer so much – texture, colour movement, multi-season interest, low maintenance, simple soil and watering needs, deer resistance and winter hardiness (for the most part). Grasses can be used as focal points, in mass plantings, as screening or backdrops, in the border or in small spaces, and they look great in containers. Most grasses prefer sun and ordinary, well drained soil, but there are some that will take to the more challenging conditions of clay, sand, shade, wet, drought or wind. There is truly a grass for every garden.
