Welcome To Russell Nursery

Russell Nursery is a family owned and operated business, founded in 1994. Located in beautiful North Saanich, about halfway between the airport and the Swartz Bay ferry terminal, it is easy to reach us from Victoria, the Saanich Peninsula or the Gulf Islands. The nursery is set on 3 ½ acres of land, surrounded by mature firs. The tranquil, rural atmosphere makes for pleasant browsing amongst the well organized and labelled sales areas. Stroll about pondering the plant possibilities and become acquainted with our friendly, resident dogs. Experienced and new gardeners alike are welcome at Russell Nursery and we are always ready to help newcomers sort out what can seem like a bewildering number of choices.

Our focus is on plants. We are growers of quality trees, Japanese maples, ornamental shrubs, roses, perennials and ornamental grasses. Also offered are seasonal herbs, bulbs, annuals and pottery. We carry a wide range of plants well-suited to this climate and are always on the lookout for something new. Our potting mix is bark based and we use high-quality, slow-release granular fertilizer and organic liquid fertilizer. We adhere to the principles of Integrated Pest Management and use beneficial insects and other organic controls to deal with pest problems.

At Russell Nursery we are proud of our knowledgeable and well-trained staff and have a strong interest in making sure our customers leave with plants well suited to their particular needs. To that end, we work toward these goals:
